...I began to wonder what the guys who comment on your site read. This seems to be a surprisingly literate bunch of jock-sniffers, and I wondered if it would be interesting or useful if we shared what we were reading with each other and what our favorite books are.Sounds good to me.
I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't read a book in, jeebus, six months. Before I got busy pretend-following sports, I use to have a lot more time on my hands. Now? Not so much. Anyway, some of my favorite (relatively) recent reads:
- Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (Depressingly good.)
- Liar's Poker (Michael Lewis' first book, and it's not about sports.)
- The Traveler: A Novel (Best sci-fi book I've read.)
- Education of a Coach (I hate Bill Belichick as much as the next Steelers fan, but I love Dave Halberstam.)
- Summer of '49 (If you want to know what baseball was like 60 years ago, this is a great, great read.)
- The Mystery of the Aleph: Mathematics, the Kabbalah, and the Search for Infinity (My all-time favorite nonfiction science book. If a mathematician can be a badass, it's Georg Cantor.)
