More Camp Stuff

Barrett Brooks, tsk, tsk. While I call my sources to confirm this story (yeah, right), Wex has made my camp notes from last Thursday free to the masses. I'll be back later to answer some questions from the comments in the last post.

UPDATE (Monday, August 7):

... This is from Starkey's article in today's Tribune-Review:
"I think [Kendall Simmons] is going to surprise a lot of people," [Marvel] Smith said. "I've never seen him feeling this good mentally and physically. Everything's behind him. He's a veteran, knows what it takes. Dealing with everything he's dealt with, he knows what to expect."
Admitedly, I didn't watch a whole lot of the offensive drills, but I'll take Marvel's word for it.

... And this is might be the most unbelievable thing I've read today:
"[Barrett Brooks] got up and attempted to get back on the bike and ride away, but the officer physically tackled him back down off the bike," Washington said. "I think (Brooks) was just worried about losing his job."

Brooks is listed by the Steelers at 6-foot-4, 325 pounds, although he came to training camp last week with a scale tucked under his arm, claiming to have lost 30 pounds.

Officer Juan Terry, who tackled Brooks, is about 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, Washington said.

"He's probably one of the biggest officers we have that works at the station," Washington said.
Here's an idea: cut Brooks and sign Juan Terry. At least we know he can make a tackle.
