Screech Lives

Not much going on, but on the upside the Red Sox haven't lost a game in two days while the Yankees continue to struggle. It may be time for Steinbrenner to unveil phase 2 of "Tony Robbins Motivation Plan" for his team.

Of course, the two days off for the Red Sox only meant they had time away from the game on the field, which would explain why Schilling is once again in the news for flapping his gums. At some point people will just stop listening to him, but I still think this is hilarious.

Saving the best for last, Dustin Diamond (In my best Troy McClure voice: "you may also remember me from such shows as "Saved by the Bell" and the major motion picture "Made"") held a live chat on washingtonpost.com yesterday and it was the weirdest, funniest thing I've seen in a while. The premise of the chat was "Screech" the Saved by the Bell nerd discusses "Screech" the dopey new Washington Nationals mascot. Not surprisingly, most of the questions revolved around A.C. Slater, Zack, Mr. Belding and Showgirls, which actually made it more entertaining. You can read the whole thing here (you'll have to register), but here's one of my favorite Q&A's from the chat:
Chaem, Mich.: Dustin, I have a very serious question that has been bugging me for a while.

On the episode where Zack and Slater fight and Slater throws Zack into the lockers and then to the ground, why does it look so realistic? I know they weren't REALLY fighting, but the director just say "go fight"?

Dustin Diamond: When you mix adolescent youth - steroids -and unrequited love, you have a recipe for comedy.
That sounds about right.
